BYOK Setup Guide

Who Should Use This

Section titled “Who Should Use This”

Use BYOK if you want to:

  • Choose a specific model and provider
  • Use your own API quota and billing
  • Keep provider control in your own account

If you are new, we recommend:

  1. OpenRouter for broad model choice (including many free options)
  2. Groq for fast inference and free-tier friendly usage

Setup Flow in AnySoul

Section titled “Setup Flow in AnySoul”
  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to API -> AI Model
  3. Set mode to Custom
  4. Choose a provider
  5. Open this provider’s guide and create an API key
  6. Paste your key and click Save
  7. Select a model

Troubleshooting

Section titled “Troubleshooting”
  • “Wrong provider” error: your key prefix does not match the selected provider.
  • “Invalid API key format”: check if the key is complete and has no extra spaces.
  • Model list empty: verify the key and try re-opening the model selector.
